Cast/Crew

Alan Demovsky

ALAN DEMOVSKY (Director) directed A Grand Night for Singing: A Celebration of Rogers and Hammerstein, Clybourne Park, Cabaret and the workshop production of Grey Gardens here. Other directorial credits, numbering nearly 30 in as many years, include Angels in America (Millennium Approaches and Perestroika), Ballroom, The Laramie Project, A View from the Bridge, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Take Me Out, Twelfth Night, Death of a Salesman, and Awake and Sing. He received the Best Director Award for La Cage Aux Folles by the OnStage Theater Awards for CT/NY Region a few season ago, and the 2022 Broadway World Best Director of a Musical award for Elmwood Playhouse’s Cole Porter review Night and Day: Love Lost and Found Through the Eyes of Cole Porter. He was the “go to” person for Robert Osborne (a great friend and great human being) of Turner Classic Movies in his lecture series until Mr. Osborne’s passing. He also directed many original plays for the TV Academy which were presented monthly at HBO in Manhattan. Alan appears in the NETFLIX movie The Last Laugh, starring Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss and directed by Greg Pritikin. Alan thanks Vicki Casella and David Maiullo for their support and guidance, but most of all for introducing him to the world of opera. This production would not have been possible without them.
